This vegetable is very carefree, but the location should be good – suitable for a variety of climates, from tropical to subtropical to tropical and even tropical.
The roots of this frost-resistant vegetable must be well implanted and this perennial plant cannot be replanted after the first year.
The ideal location for rhubarb is sunny or semi-shady and should only be harvested in the second year.
The soil should be well-prepared and moist and permeable to water, so that it remains in the ground for a long time. Digging wells, removing weeds, mixing compost and organic fertilizer into the soil and mixing well.
Leave the soil to rest for two to three weeks, and now it is time to store the vegetables and store them in an airtight container in a cool, dry place.
The easiest way to do this is to get rhizomes from a garden shop, hardware store or gardener. Rhubarb seeds are not advisable as they are difficult to grow, but the simplest method works. Plant the rhizome 2.5 cm deep and keep the distance between 70 – 100 cm or 10 – 20 cm from the ground.
When the harvest season approaches, take a sharp knife and cut the stem to ground level and harvest. The vegetables can be harvested a second year from April to June, the third year from October to November.

Increase your harvest
If you want to increase your harvest with compost or organic fertilizer, you should make sure that the roots are not damaged. If your rhubarb becomes too big, thin it out with a mixture of water, salt and a little fertilizer.
You can also divide the rhizome with a clean, sharp knife or spade to obtain two plants. Before dividing the plant, make sure that each half has at least one bud, carefully dig out the plant and place it in a place where it has more space to have more space.
